Evan Ng - Fundraising Co-Chair"I want to become a medical professional because one of my family members suffered from cancer when I was young, and this peaked my interest in the topic. Also, I love interacting with patients and helping them get better."
Shenney Lin - Treasurer"I wanted to pursue a career in medicine because it not only aligns with my passion learning biology and learning about what makes the human body work, but it’s an opportunity for me to learn new things everyday and make a difference in people’s lives through the medical field."
Michaela Sless - Executive Service Co-Chair"The reason that I am interested in medicine is because I love to help people and make life easier for them. I am specifically interested in Emergency Medicine so I will be helping my patients on some of the worst and scariest days of their lives as they enter the hospital. I get to be their advocate and make them feel better both physically and mentally, depending on what they are going through. Also, medicine and the human body is so interesting to me and I am amazed every day at what our bodies are capable of doing!"

We will also be going over our new point system and introduce our newly elected E-board! Be sure to join the meeting to interact with the rest of the members! Hey guys, I think it would be cool for senior members of TCNJ AMSA who have been accepted to medical school (M.D. or D.O.) to post where they have been accepted so far.
I'll get the ball rolling: so far, I've been accepted to UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School. Please comment as you receive acceptances, and congratulations to all of you in advance! Hey AMSA! Where have you shadowed? How did you like it? Who should we contact if we're interested?
I'll start things off! =] I shadowed this past summer (between my sophomore and junior years) in the ER at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. It was a blast! I went 6 hours a day, 2 days a week, for 3 months. Over the course of the summer, I got to shadow about a dozen different M.D.'s (and D.O.'s). If you're interested in shadowing in this ER, e-mail Dr. DesRochers at [email protected] or call the Emergency Department at (732)557-2277. -Ryan Hey guys, our first meeting of the semester will be on January 26th at 2PM in Bio 209. Please make note of the room change from last semester.
Our first meeting will be this upcoming Wednesday, September 15th, at 2:00PM in Biology Building room 208. We will be selling our new shirts, our old shirts, and sports bottles, so bring your money! Also, Kaplan will be there to talk to us about their special discount and opportunities for national AMSA members. Lastly, we will be having a drawing for a free Kaplan MCAT book!!! See you there! -Ryan
